New hardware support

The Challenge has been out there for more than three weeks now, and for most of the time it seems it has been running fine for people. One big problem we’ve had though is people with computers with less than the minimum system requirements trying to run the game, and not being able to. Primarily, these have been modern laptops but with low end graphics cards, such as:

  • Intel(R) 82845G
  • Intel(R) Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family
  • Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family
  • Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family
  • Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3150

With the latest release, 0.4.0, we’ve done some fixes to add support for cards like these too. If you’ve previously had troubles starting the game, download the latest version and give it another go.

Note that we do not officially support this hardware. This fix is just a courtesy to our fans out there and we do not guarantee the game will run with these cards.

The Challenge

The Captain has found himself lost deep in the swamplands. Wandering about, he comes across a small clearing. Something is wrong though… The stench of zombies is in the air, the sound of their growls can be heard in the distance. Before he has time to realize what’s about to happen, he’s completely swarmed with zombies and has no choice but to stand his ground and fight it out. Will he survive or will he not? It’s up to you now.

Take the role of The Captain and stand your ground against the gruesome zombies swarming you in what we call; The Challenge. The Challenge is a specially designed one map demo version of Dead Meets Lead in which you fend off hordes of attacking zombies, charging towards you in wave after wave. Beware though, it’s not called The Challenge for nothing. How many waves of attacks can you survive? Those few who manage to survive all of the waves are granted a place in the prestigious Dead Meets Lead Hall of Fame.

To get started, head over to the The Challenge page and download the client. Don’t forget to sign up for the facebook event first though!

Pre-purchase, publishers and a new gameplay trailer

Lots of things are happening at once right now for us! The biggest news is that we’re going to be available on three major digital distribution services; Impulse, Desura and Gamer’s Gate. At the time of writing, DML is available for pre-purchase at Desura, and we are working on opening up for pre-purchase on the other two as well. Moreover, we’ve also created a new gameplay trailer, which features a lot of the new things in DML, such as the rage system, a host of different weapons, bosses, new level designs, updated graphics and lots more.

We’ve also set a price for Dead Meets Lead: 13.99€, but if you want to save some money you can pre-purchase the game for only 9.79€! To pre-purchase go to our page at Desura.
